The departure of Lance and Scarlet - FireDog - 29-11-2013

Lance left. More or less sprinted away in a cowardly fear after seeing Amelia take a flail to the face and her brains splattering everywhere across the snow in a bloody mess. Lance's thoughts were 'every man for himself!' as he sprinted away. Lyrxi was in charge of chasing him, but decided to stop midway and turned back to see the others. Lance took this time to keep running and running till he couldn't anymore. The man was fast and took the first road he saw all the way to the safest place he could find before finally escaping the lands and grasps of the Mesalians who Lance assumed were set on killing him.

The first thing Lance did was to find a safe resting area, keep his hand on his blade in case of dusk or Mesalain attackers, and run and hide till he found refuge. Eventually, Lance was able to take a ship back to the Mainland. Once there, he made contact with his fathers company, Spece trade. Using Spece trade, Lance would cut off supply and trade of the current vessels and companies Lance had tricked Margetha into using. It was a bit tricky as Margretha was fairly cautious and hard to get around. Due to this Lance even had to work with Caius and attempt to fool him as well. Eventually Lance was able to get Caius to work with his contract and the towns trade would stop as they are no longer able to contact the mainland. What does this mean? Any and all goods that are currently being purchased by the Mesalians are gone. No more alcohol, building supplies, imported food for the winter, metal, iron. All of it is gone. This was all possible due to a contract Margetha had signed, allowing Lance to have 'other, private companies' make cheaper trade for the Mesalains. In reality, the Spece company owns those business in a monopoly. That monopoly, controlled the Mesalians trade fora few years now. The money all went to Lance. Great for him and it even worked for the Mesalians. However, he is cutting this supply off. The biggest changes will be that the alcohol will no longer be supplied and that the food the Mesalians desperately need for Winter will be cut off. The trade that the mesalians received was all in extra goods which they gave off. Goods such as wood and minerals. Lance doesn't take loss well. Thus, he spread word to companies who had their eye on Ravenna that those living there are awful trade partners who are unreliable and caused many issues. Lies and slander.

Lance is a merchant. Hardworking, proactive and productive, lively merchant. He did his best to be the humble man he is and befriend others. His dream was to own a shop of his own one day. The man was even offered but out of his non-greed filled persona, Lance denied the free opportunity. A truly humble and kind man at that.

Lance is a bastard. He made threats to Nerrissa to harm her, cut off her pay, fire her. He secretly hated all the Mesalians and wanted nothing but the peasant cattle below him to just give their money unwillingly. A wolf in sheep's clothing.

Lance is a liar and coward. Not only did he spin a web to hide his true intentions, he ran from death. Letting his fellow Lucins get caught in danger to save his own life instead. A rat of a merchant.

Lance is simply just a bad person. He hated the Mesalians. He hated Nerissa. He hated Ravenna. Lance ran back to his company. Lance ran back to his family. Lance ran back home. His hopes were more in to see if he has outdone his brothers in means of income having the towns trade in his hands. He had bested them by some sum. Now it was time to complete this by going on with his route for the next big scheme. Rest is never truly present for a merchant and Lance would keep going till he owned the Spece company. Just not ever again in those damned Forbidden Lands. Barbarians are what those people are.

And then there was Scarlet. Once the Mesalian guard took her rune notes, which held some evidence that could get her locked up, Scarlet began packing and quickly snuck out during the night. She took the curtains that were eventually made with her. Never know when you'll need privacy. Scarlet also took her old robes, although simply packed those. Something compelled the woman to not return to the identity of Silver. Finally, she took her runes. Unfortunately, due to her notes being taken away she was unable to finish communication runes for the Karalis family. Scarlet smashed her inn home rune, no need for that. Then wrote a note and pinned it outside her door to explain her leaving. She left some intertesting comments. And even some thanks to two people in town who helped her with some personal problems. Perhaps she will be able to overcome them eventually...

Scarlet is a smart woman. A smart and cut-throat woman. The world of exploration is smart and cut-throat. And she is emerrsed in that world. Unlike Lance who took his loss against the Mesalians bitterly, Scarlet left with anger to only one woman. She lost. Granted, it was a big loss. The city of Ravenna has secrets that must be revisited. Maybe at another time when that group has either left or forgiven her. One secret was those giant rune crystals at the bottom of the cavern. Those were something Scarlet stuided to no end and she plans on doing so once more. And while Scarlet would have liked to indulge craving for the unknown with the mysterious device listed in Scarlets notes, she would take the loss in not finding it. After all...She has the entire forbidden lands right in front of her. There was more to explore than she could imagine. And she has it all to herself...

Scarlet disappeared one morning. Possibly robed up in the desert areas and she would visit a town here and there while she travels. Townsfolk would tell of a strange, dark skinned Xitian girl who arrived one morning, supplied, and was gone the next. Scarlet would record all and any findings she had in these lands. Scarlet would keep recording these findings with runes and ruins until she dropped dead. After all, this was her passion.
