*There is a lengthy listing of the Yuma's inventory of food and supplies, Ezriâs handwriting is somewhat sloppy.*
Captain Ezri Lapis
The Yuma - Cutter
=1st Mate: "Sammy Gray-eyes"
= 2nd Mate: "Rook Conn'rrz"
Destination: Provensia, Mainland
Port: Auria, Forbidden Lands
Day 1 AV24 - Summer, Wind Direction is S-SW, Heading SW.
The liberation of The Yuma has brought me no end of joy. My two years ashore have been long and very hard on my soul and body. When at the wheel I can just feel all of it melt away, even a lifeless limb seems a small problem when I have the whole of the sea's before me. I am truly content when I am sailing, but with this, oddly enough, I no longer feel the draw to return to my old ways. While exciting and often time profitable, it was a dangerous way of life. The mateys that serve me now are more family then they are crew, I would not risk either of them for a hull bursting with gold and diamonds... I think. No ones made the offer.
My mateys are both still getting their sea legs, I've spent the majority of our day teaching them what, by the time we reach port, should be second nature. Both Rook and Sammy are intelligent men, but neither have much (for Rook, any) experience at sea. Rook is learning the rigging and the sails. He's already learned a few knots needed to secure and release the sails as needed. He's slow, and pretty sloppy at it still, but by the time we reach the shore, he will be a fine sailor. Sam does a fair job at the helm, he's able to navigate and take my place when I am wary, So I set to teaching him this first. For the first full day and night I will not be sleeping, so as to teach them. I wouldn't be able to rest if I'd missed anything anyway.
----------------------
~::Ezri writes daily logs. 2-3 only mention Rook and Sam's continued tutelage and adjustments to course.::~
----------------------
Day 4 AV24 - Summer, Wind Direction is S, Heading SW-W.
So we've worked out sleeping shifts, so there is someone at the wheel at all times. I've decided that I will be taking the night's into mid-morning, it is hardest to see, navigate, and there is always the risk of fog in the mornings. Sam is at the wheel from Mid-morning to evening sun fall. Rook's shift is a little less consistent, and far less comfortable. I feel for him, but he, as ever, takes it in stride. The rigging is not something that always need tending, but when it does Rook must be available. So he's awoken as needed, day or night.
At night he sleeps on the deck beside the wheel. He keeps me company for as long as he can stand to be awake. Even his snoring is of some comfort. Sometimes I impress myself with my choice in mateys. I'm glad for the company, even I struggle to focus on my work when having nothing but endless rolling darkness to look upon. I admit I've woken him once or twice when I have felt myself fading, asking him to man the rigging unnecessarily, if only for the momentary distraction and brief conversation before he dozes off again.
We've cleared most of the outer islands around the forbidden lands. From here forward it is just us and the vast oceans in front of us. A dark storm and thick fog of rain loomed to the southwest, I changed our course to avoid it, heading farther west. Thankfully it is not a large storm, and should be easily avoided.
---------------------------
Day 5 AV24 - Summer, Wind Direction is N-NE, Heading *there is a frustrated scribble here*.
Of course our first storm after setting out would roll on us when I'm sleeping. I was rocked from my bunk when the Yuma was broadsided. I must have been soundly out not to hear the rain on the deck or the crash of thunder before then. When I got to the deck Sam was fighting to maintain course while Rook struggled in the rigging.
What a mess. I ordered Sam to abandon our course and to just keep the waves from broadsiding us. The look he gave me was pretty funny, but I really can only appreciate it in hindsight; At the time I was pretty distracted. The wind and rain wasn't severe, nothing the Yuma couldn't weather, but the inexperienced crew had been surprised by the storm when the winds suddenly changed and pushed it right into us. I had Rook tie lines to all of us whilst I took stock of our situation. I relieved Sam of his post, he was doing a fine job, I'm actually rather proud of him, but I needed someone with two hands to climb the rigging with Rook and tie down the sails.
We'd probably of fared better if not for my own shortcomings. I had a hard time with just the wheel, the seas fought hard, and my left hand just hasn't the strength my right did. I lost my grip on the wheel and the Yuma pitched as a wave washed over the deck almost taking me with it. Both Sam and Rook remained in the rigging, they worked hard as I fought the sea for control of my ship. I'll be damned if it'll be claiming another! My crew probably didn't even notice my struggle until I yelled for them. I swear they must of jumped to the deck they were there so quick. Sam and I pulled the wheel, and the ship, as another wave broke across our aft, the jolt knocking me off my feet. Rook narrowly catching me before I crashed into the railing and likely over it. Rook and I dropped the anchor, and with that I ordered all of us below deck.
We're waiting out the storm for now, there was a time when I'd of pressed on, but the wreck of the Lapis Lady still haunts me, I'm in no hurry to revisit that experience, nor subject my crew to it.
In the mean time we played a game of cards below deck. Sam has the best poker face I've ever seen, it's almost unfair. I only bet Rook's gold, so I'm not out anything, I'll win it back later, we have plenty of time.
-------------------------
Day 6 AV24 - Summer, Wind Direction NW-N, Heading W
The skies are clear once more. Sams thorough inspection of the ship reveled no serious harm, I'm not surprised, it was just a little stormy weather. I gave both men instructions for next time as we set sail once more. I spent the day teaching Rook how to navigate and Sam how to tie knots. I want both to be able to man any station or task I set them to, also, Rooks been running ragged keeping up. I have nothing but respect for his ability to do so, but it's undue stress on him that I don't wish to prolong. Come to think on it, I haven't slept save for the few hours I got before the storm hit, and I'm preparing to take my post as the sun now sets. Sam will be joining me on the rigging tonight and hopefully Rook might get some rest while we're at it.
------------------------
Day 7 AV24 - Summer, Wind Direction W, Heading W
Well, balls to that. I fell asleep on the deck last night, when I woke up I was leaned against the wheel in Rook's normal spot. Rook was on the sails, and Sam quietly at the wheel. Neither man said a word to each other. I hope this trip helps them see in each other what it is I cherish so much about each of them. At the very least friends. For now I think they only tolerate one another because I'd throw them both overboard if they started arguing.
-----------------------
Day 11 AV24 - Summer, Wind Direction E, Heading fucking nowhere
Bloody nether, I knew the winds wouldn't be with us the whole way but this just sucks. Without anything to keep myself busy with I've started to torture my crew. I gave the order that neither of them are to shave anymore. I told them this was because I was worried they'd hurt themselves given the motion of the seas. Really its for my own twisted entertainment. I want to see how their facial hair grows out and who's grows thickest faster. May the best matey win.
-----------------------
Day 14 AV24 - Summer, Wind Direction NW, Heading W
I finally managed to get a braid into that damn sellsword's hair. I swear you'd think I was trying to put him into a dress with how he fought me on it. What a big baby. I braided some thread into it to make sure it wont be going anywhere, the swabby'll have to cut the thing out if he wants rid of it.
Sam's also winning my little contest, It's too early to know for sure, but Rook doesn't look like he's grown much more then some peach fuzz. Which I've been happy to point out to him.
--------------------------------
Day 16 AV24 - Summer, Wind Direction N, Heading W
The winds were with us last night, but today as I left the helm to Sam they where starting to turn. I had a spar with Rook before bed, I dare say I gave him a run for his gold. My strength is getting better every day with my left arm, and I already know the forms, and technique my captain taught me. It's getting easier and easier to wield my sword with some measure of efficiency. Though to be honest its still a pale imitation of the skill I wield with my other hand...
Speaking of which, I still have no feeling in the hand or anything below the wound really, but everything else has started to itch and then ache. I would be more worried about this but it comes on the heels of a bit more movement. I continue to try and flex the parts that don't wish to move, in hopes it'll aid the healing.
----------------------
Day 18 AV24 - Summer, Wind Direction W, Heading W
Another storm. There wasn't any avoiding this one, It'd been overcast all day, but the strong winds carried us swiftly. When the rains started in the evening as I took the helm from Sam I decided to press on. It only took a few hours for the seas to get rough, I called for all hands.
It was exciting. We made excellent time, and I'll be damned if those two didn't continue to impress with their willingness to see my insanity through. I however, regret I put my matey's in a bit of trouble by doing so. Rook almost fell overboard when one of the lines for the sail snapped, whipping the rope across the deck, it must of hit him, I didn't truly see it. I know that Sam had kept him from falling from the mast. In the whipping winds and rain they replaced the line and the Yuma pressed on.
We passed through the storm unscathed otherwise, though the flag is in tatters. Its not my banner, I can't say I care. I will be replacing it soon enough.
--------------------------
Day 19 AV24 - Summer, Wind Direction SW, Heading SW
Rook spotted land today. It can now clearly be seen from the deck, we've reached the mainlands. We're still almost a day from Rook's port, and another two from Provensia, But all in all I think we've made marvelous time, in spite of our delays.
None of us had been sleeping much, this is something I expect when at sea, but perhaps I should of warned them before setting out. In spite of fatigue they continue to learn my trade, and carry out their duties without complaint. I can see the end of our journey approaching, and some well earned rest when we arrive.
-----------------------
Day 20 AV24 - Summer, Wind Direction S, Heading S
I bid farewell to Rook, leaving him at the brewery, picking up the first shipment of barrels I'll be smuggling in and out of of our final destination. The man running the brewery, an older, stout man, named Crayeon, he's normally the jolly sort, but stern and dead serious about his trade. I've worked with him before, he used to be dear friends with Captain Logan. I'm sure that Rook can stay out of trouble, which is good, because I know that man doesn't have a peg-leg from brewing...
---------------------
Day 22 AV24 - Summer, Arrived
We've made port in Provensia, it took me forever to convince Sam to guard the Yuma while I tended to the more nefarious affairs needing sorted. I managed to get things rolling on the goods I need sold, and made contact with the Family owned speakeasy that Crayeon's brew will be going to. With a ship like the Yuma, smuggling brew is easy gold to be made...
--------------------
Day 23 AV24 - Summer. Provensia, Mainland
Wondered town for a while today, spent a bit of gold on some clothing, a few shirts, a new jacket, I had it tailored a bit so there is a bit of a pocket between the buttons on the front for my arm. So at least I haven't need for the damn sling anymore. I also got myself a leather hat, its got a feather and everything. I've picked up a few of the supplies requested from some people back in Auria, found a couple of books for myself and Snow, and a few toys for Sigan. That leaves only a few things on my to-do list yet.
I dislike these folks I'm selling Solen's goods to. The price they're offering is generous for what it is, I think they may try to kill me instead of pay. Oh well. I'll be sure to sharpen my sword before I see them again.

Day 24 AV24 - Summer. Wind direction NW, Heading N
Set sail back to the brewery with the empty barrels to be recycled. Sam has done a bit of shopping and has gathered a few supplies. He said he was getting strange looks before we set out, Odd. No one even gave me a second glance, but I suppose some one-armed sailor isn't so uncommon. A 6 foot tall man as pale as bone and grim as death, perhaps a bit more of a sight. I don't think there's anything to it, but we'll look into it once we're back.
-------------------------
Day 25 AV24 - Summer. Wind Direction W, Heading N
FINALLY! I won Rook's gold back from Sam. It took a game of luck, and best 3 out of 5. But whats important is that I won. Slow day, but we haven't far to go to get to the tavern. It'll be nice to see Rook again.

Day 27 AV24 - Summer. Wind Direction W, Heading S
I drank so much... Damn that Rook. We had a good time, and I shared one of the Captain's favorite drinks with him. Of course it got us both completely wrecked. I woke up in the tavern still this morning, having never made it back to the Yuma. Sam was unsurprised.
The small fortune I stood to make from selling the goods I pilfered from Solen now aren't to be traded. I might as well give them back for all the good they'll do me now. Rook's talked me out of it and damn if it doesn't break my heart to turn up all that gold. What profit is to be made smuggling will cover the costs of this trip as far as provisions go and the items I've agreed to return with, but my profits will be slim. Rook and Sam stand to make nothing. I know Rook doesn't care but Sam, the man should be paid for his work... Stupid, morals. This was a lot easier before I thought about consequences and crap.
Frustrated as I am I know I'm doing the right thing, don't get me wrong. I want to do the right thing, but what a pain in the ass. I'm certain the men I arranged to sell to will try to kill me now.
--------------------------------
Day 31 AV24 - Summer. Provensia, Mainlands
The buyers for Solen's goods tried to kill me. I cut one down but the rest where felled by a curious man who apparently works for the family. Some sort of highborn assassin named 'Ace'. Interesting fellow, I liked him well enough, I would hate to be one of his targets though, I'm pretty sure he'd have a knife in my neck before I even got my cutlass drawn.
I also met perhaps the most frightening man I've ever encountered. The head of the family. It is no wonder he runs this show, he's one scary son of a bitch. We had a merry chat about matters I wouldn't dare write on paper, and I hope I never see his wrinkled face again.
Sam's not at the ship. Not sure where he's went...

Day 32 AV24 - Summer. Wind Direction NW, Heading N
Sam's been taken, somehow. I had to call in every favor I had in the whole of the bloody city to figure out who the nether took him. They set sail, but I know where they're going and that their ship is a piece of shit, The Yuma can sail circles around them, which is good because I can't take a ship on that size myself. Shit, all three of us couldn't do it. Either way, I have to try to save my matey. I'm heading back to the brewery to get Rook, It's on the way mostly. But I'm making shit for time with no one to help me. I can't get ahead of myself, as angry as I am, I have to do this carefully or no one will be getting to Sam before its too late.
If I'm lucky, which I usually am not, I'll have Rook and be catching up with them tomorrow at sunset.
------------------------
Destination: Wolfsbane Tavern & Brewery, Mainlands
From: The burning wreckage of what was a ship.
Day 33 AV24 - Summer. Wind Direction SE, Heading S
I picked Rook up as the sun set, we immediately shoved off after Sam's captures. We ran our colors, I had two flags made, the one we used tonight is black with my long missed coat of arms on it. We caught up with them as a storm rolled in, for once the rains that seem to constantly plague me, worked in my favor. There piss pour guard on deck as we threw lines and climbed aboard. We dealt with the lookouts, then Rook dumped some canisters of crap he'd taken with him from the brewery into the crew deck where most of the crew was hiding from the storm. I don't know what happened to them, I do know none of them came up looking for us...
Rook and I made quite a pair against the men guarding Sam, turns out my new jacket doesn't stain easily. I unchained poor Sam while Rook went to make sure the coast was clear. Sure enough by the time I slapped Sam awake and got him mobile Rook had found the captain of the ship. I don't know who he was but he sure was pissed off, he fought like nether, It was all Rook could do to keep him at bay while I shoved Sam down the lines to our dinghy.
Rook was in a bit of trouble, so I stepped in to take a shot at the big captain. I wasn't any match for him, certainly not in my present condition. Unfortunately for him, he was trained like a soldier, honorable and straightforward. Easy pray when you don't fight fair. I cut him up a touch before Rook set fire to the damn ship. With that we had to make a quick escape, jumping off the poop deck. The ship burned fast, in spite of the rain. Probably had something to do with what he dumped into the crew deck...
So either way we sent that ship and her crew to the darkest depths for having invoked the ire of Captain Ezri Lapis.
No one fucks with my crew, but me.
----------------
Day 34 AV24 - Summer. Wolfesbane Tavern & Brewery, Mainlands
Creyeon let Sam a room in the tavern, we're staying here until I'm satisfied he's alright. The local healer stopped by and patched him up, I'm sure he'll be ship shape soon, but a bit of a break wont hurt any of us. Rook isn't so lucky, he's still got to work for the old man. At least I know all his hard work will be worth it. I'll try not to distract him while we stay... Or start trouble. Creyeon might be an old friend but he doesn't like me lingering around, not that I can't blame him, I've caused a lot of trouble for him in the past.
As it happens, Sam's won my little contest. The man's facial hair grows so thick I think it might be trying to eat his face.

* There is a gap until the 36th day when Ez & Sam set sail back to Provensia. There is also a letter and glove pressed between the pages.*
---------
~~~~~
Ezri,
I'm writing this because I, while searching for Conradian, found your letter. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm afraid no one have seen him for a long long time now and no matter how much I look, I can't find him.
He's to be declared missing and Auria will most likely go through an election of a new mayor. I'm sorry, but no one knows where to start looking for him, there are no clues to be found. I just hope my old friend returns home in one piece.
I also found this when going through his dusty office. I won't ask.
Safe travels,
Zarkaylia
Day 38 AV24 - Summer. Provensia, Mainlands
Got a letter from Zarkaylia about Con.
Missing. No one can find him. How could he just go missing... how can they just hold an election? You can't replace the man, he's... my Con...
--------------
Day 39 AV24 - Summer. Provensia, Mainlands
So I have a few bruises from last night. I'm not sure what from, Sam says I started a fight in the family pub, and we got thrown out. We were lucky that the family didn't personally take offense to it. The fact I'm still breathing nor have I seen Ace today says they must be feeling benevolent. Or it wasn't much of a fight. I don't remember...
At any rate I went out and continued my shopping, Some of the things Gerolf asked for aren't very easy to find. That and they'll stink my hold up to nether and back.
--------------
*another letter is pressed between the pages.*
~~~~~
Ezri!
After a long time lost in the woods, and just as we declared him missing of course, Conradian have finally found his way back to Auria with the new look of someone you just keelhauled. The man is torn and bruised (and yelled at), but he's well. There's no need to worry anymore and I'm sure he also found your letter he's just resting in the clinic for now. I'd not have it in any other way.
Apart from that good news, I have realized something I'd like to get done on the Mainland, if it is possible that is. The gold in this package is yours, for the trouble of you so wish and I can give you more when you return if you want to. The lapis I'd like to have delivered someplace.
I doubt you can make your way there on your own within the months your away, the town lies far away from Provensia and many days travel up a river, and two more by foot. In the heart of the Mainland, not too far from the Gates, lies the town Wyndallon. You can probably easily find a merchant to get this done, whatever pay he demands I'll repay you. In the town there's several large memorial grounds and graveyards for heroes of the War of Veld, among the Eastern ones there should be one named "Solar Glade". Tell the merchant to hand the grave keeper the lapis and that it is to be placed on a grave with the name "Nelenna" on it.
If there's no way to get this done, you may keep the lapis and the gold. I have no use for it nor do I care much for it.
Safe travels,
Zarkaylia

Day 40 - Summer. Wind Direction N, Heading N
I received a second letter from Zark. I suppose it's better I am so far from port right now. I'd of done more than yell at Conrad for having worried me. Gods, I was more than worried... I hate that sick lost feeling this gives me. So much. Damn my stupid heart for putting me into this position in the first place. And damn those fucking woods!
Zarks letter asked for me to see something get done, it didn't sound terribly urgent a matter, but I haven't anything else to do with myself. I've got the last barrels to drop off and then I'm out of work for now. I've never been so far inland as Zark's letter asks, but I think I could stand the trip, if anything I look forward to the chance to do a bit of exploring...

Day 43 AV24 - Summer. Wind direction N, Heading S
Shit day for sailing. But it can't be helped. We're headed back to Provensia one last time, we're gathering the supplies I'll need for not only this trip for Zark. I won't make it the whole way but I could see it as far as the river's mouth. Should be interesting, we won't be running my colors out there, the green banner would be fine. Given I want to avoid trouble in that area. but for the sail home as well. I'm sure the trip back is going to be shorter, I managed to get some maps from old Crayeon, and with some adjustments to my course I should be able to keep wind in our sails and shave a day or two off our trip back.
I'm hopeful I might be able to find the last of the supplies requested by the folks back home. Namely, Gerolf's sulfur. I keep getting looks like I'm out of my damn mind asking for the stuff whenever I go shopping for it.
As we set sail today it will be the last of Rook I see for several weeks. I'm reluctant to leave him, given recent events. Outwardly he seems fine, but still, I wonder about him. He performed exceptionally as both a sailor and a pirate, but Rook isn't either of those things...
---------------------
Day 46 AV24 - Summer. Provencia, Mainlands
So I finally found a man in all of Provensia with some sulfur for sale. But he wanted a FORTUNE for it. I tried to argue it down but the bastard just wouldn't budge. Sam however, was kind enough to persuade the merchant down to something I could manage. I'll have to see if Gerolf is willing to throw some gold or something my way for all this trouble.
Thinking about it, he probably wouldn't agree with Sam's negotiation with the merchant. What Gerolf doesn't know won't get me lectured at, so I suppose I'll keep that little bit to myself.

Destination: Wyndallon, Mainland

Day 47 AV24 - Summer. Wind Direction W-NW, Heading N
I wont make it all the way to where Zark wants this lapis delivered myself. But I'll see it as far as I can. I can't trust any of the merchants in Provensia to see this get done, so I'll stop at a port near the mouth of the Salazar river, hopefully that will yield me some sort of respectable business man that can carry out Zarks wish... for a low fee. I'd like to keep most of this gold she kindly sent... not that I wonât be asking for more anyway.
----------------------
Day 50 AV24 - Summer. Wind Direction W, Heading N
We're moving slowly today, I can clearly see the coast from the deck of the Yuma... We passed some battle fields, villages, a large tavern, all burned to charcoal. A few scavengers picked through the remains. The damn civil wars and petty infighting on land continues. It unsettled me a bit. Rook's opened his home to me, letting me live there. With that, and my counting him as family, the idea of something like that happening in Auria is... Not something I wish to dwell on.
---------------
Day 57 AV24 - Eastbank, Mainlands
We've made it to the mouth of the river. I'll be damned if it isn't huge. There's large port cities on either side, both of which look a little worse for ware. I'm shocked to see the fighting on the mainlands so close to the Gates, but I suppose it can't be helped.
We made port and I headed into town. It took me hours to find a merchant heading where I needed the Lapis taken, and a while to talk the man into following Zarks instructions. He seemed an alright guy, and the trip would not be far out of his way, I paid him for the help and he gave him his word to see it done. That will just have to be enough for old lady Zark.

Day 70 AV24 - Summer. Wind Direction SE, Heading E
Funniest damn thing I've seen this whole trip. Rook ran onto the dock just as Sam and I start to secure the Yuma. Sure enough old man Crayeon is right on his heels. He was having a fit at Rook, yelling and cussing. Rook, Sam and I grabbed everything on the dock we could carry (for me, that's not much) and ran back aboard the Yuma. I caught sight of Amber in nothing but a towel by the tavern, and I know exactly what happened. Rook's story is cute, but there is no way he didn't have a marry roll with that girl. I told Rook that girl wanted in his pants. I even bet him as much on my last visit. Sure enough he paid me.
That bastard of an old man started throwing bottles at us and I'll be damned if one didn't hit me while I tried to get air in the Yuma's sails. Took a chip out of the side of my ear, bleed like a mother fucker, it had to be burned shut, I hate that shit. Hot metal against my bloody head, Sam likely would have had to hold me down to do it if not for Rook. Somehow the weasel convinced me to let him do it. Promising me some booty.
The booty was nice, it was a bottle of schnapps he'd dyed green, just for me. Its not only tasty but, thoughtful of him. I don't think I'm just going to down this, its a long trip back and perhaps this is worth saving a bit of.
----------------------------------
Day 79 AV24 - Summer. Wind Direction E-SE, Heading S
The Dusk Isls
Nether does strange things to land, when its real thick in an area the grass becomes this gray moss crap and these huge mushrooms grow. Its kind of like how Aether will cause islands to float. Only its really creepy and unsettling. There is a series of islands aptly called by the sea faring community "Dusk Isls". I've set our course through them because the winds to the south of them are strong to the east this season, and should carry us swiftly towards home.
We came across an old ship, anchored near one of the islands. I have to admit my sense of adventure was a bit too strong and Rook and I headed over. My dutiful first remained at the Yuma. I didn't foresee so much trouble when we set out, though I knew it was a possibility, lets be realistic here; A ship rotting out here, with all the nether about, something was bound to have gone wrong.
The ship was large, might of been nice once. it was covered with that moss crap, and the deck was rotting apart. We started poking around and found the captains cabin. In my eagerness, I fell through the damn floor. I hit the deck below and the force of that broke that floor as well, until I landed in blackness and water in the hold. Which was miserably flooded and too deep for me to really tread in most places. I've got a nice bruise from the fall, but that wasn't really the worst of it.
The pitch black hold was thick with duskspawn. Some armored, some wielding weapons. It was all I could do to tread water and keep them back. The bastards clawed me up something terrible. All over my chest, sides, one of my legs, and my right arm, as if there isn't enough wrong with that one.
Escaping that hold was something out of a nightmare. On our way out we run into some armored bastard. Rook and I worked well together to bring him down before anymore harm came to us.
best of all. We got into the treasure chest and got away with our plunder. All in all, deathly dangerous with the sort of horrors that may haunt me a while, but fun.
On an unrelated note, Thank the Gods for Sam. If he didn't know how to patch people up, as basic as his knowledge is, we'd be so fucked right now.
-------------------
Day 88 AV24 - Summer. Wind Direction E, Heading SE
Rook spotted land today, we're passing the outermost islands around the mainlands. I welcome the chance to return to Auria, I have found myself missing some of my friends there. Granted, the best of them are here with me, that doesn't mean I don't long to see the smiling faces of the others.
What I think makes me all the more excited is seeing Conradian once more. It's been... so many months. Almost 8 since I last saw him. I think I might yell at him a bit, then hug him and nail a compass to his head.

Day 1 AV25 - Fall, Wind Direction is W Heading -.
Snow suggested that I set sail to put some distance between me and my vices. I have been having a hard time talking to Rook about my problem, I feel that it's unfair to him for me to ask him to stop doing something I know he enjoys because I have no self control. It's not his fault I'm this terrible beast of a woman. I need time and space, to mourn the loss of our child and to properly get a hold of myself. I have been swinging wildly from one emotion to the next, I've smashed the balcony in the farm and threw our furniture into the sea in fits of rage, I've sobbed in hysterics, I've shut down into a bitter ice queen and I've threatened a blind man for bumping into me. I will get in trouble if I remain around people like this, so I've set sail. I left Rook a note, I feel terrible for not being able to face him to tell him I need to get away, but he'll understand...
I'm going to head ashore for a little while, stretch my legs a bit before I set my course.
-------------------
Day 2 AV25 - Fall, Wind Direction is NW Heading W.
Well, Rook actually didn't take the note very well at all. Which is just as well because I'll be damned if I didn't get myself chased through the woods by wolves, fell into a cave and was miserably waiting for duskspawn to come eat me for hours. Rook must of followed the coast until he found the Yuma and then searched the woods until he heard me yelling and cussing. He helped me out of that damned hole. A skeleton came for us as we made our escape. Rook exploded in a fit of unbridled rage. He'd been fiercely protective of me while I was pregnant and it appears he still is. Perhaps though, it is a bit of his distress from the loss of our child bleeding through... Either way I'm not really very pleased about it. I don't need to rely on others. Given what was going on I didn't press the matter but I will on my return. I finally had to speak to him, to tell him why I had to go, he wanted to come. I wanted him to come, to be with me, but at the same time, I think I could stand some time to myself. So I told him to wait for me. I will be returning on our anniversary.
-----------------
Day 3 AV25 - Fall, Wind Direction is - Heading -.
I dropped the anchor just far enough from shore that I can still see the dark blot of land on the horizon. As ever I love the gentle rocking of the ship and the lap of the waves against the haul. For the first time however, I'm at sea but my mind is on land. With just Adel and me on the ship I'm forced into the uncomfortable position of thinking long and hard on what's happened. It's beyond comprehension. Knowing I had it all, for one beautiful moment, Rook wanted to marry me, I was going to give birth to his child. We where so happy, and then it all fell away. Due to my drinking. Drinking! I'd spent so long thinking it was the solution to my problems, not the cause. How could this have happened? Snow said 'chemical dependency' but I don't like that term. It's like trying to blame the booze for my drinking it.
------------------
Day 4 AV25 - Fall, Wind Direction is - Heading -.
Fuck me. I'm a selfish, hateful, angry bitch of a woman. I'm to fucking blame for all of this. I'm such a huge fuck up. I had it all! Everything! My dreams! and I just smashed them! How could I let myself do this?! How could I fucking drink after Snow warned me?! What the fucking nether is wrong with me?! Why the fuck doesn't Rook hate me for this?! I don't get it! I deserve him to leave me for this... but he doesn't. He still wants me, he still wants to marry me and give me the chance to fuck up his family again... I don't understand.
--------------
Day 5 AV25 - Fall, Wind Direction is - Heading -.
I want to drink still. I keep thinking, maybe a sip every now and again won't hurt. If I don't drink as much then it wouldn't be such a problem to stop later. I'm revolting. It's no wonder I had to sail all the way fucking out here just to keep myself away from it. The little voice in the back of my head that say's 'It won't hurt to have a sip' is more of a deafening roar.
------------
Day 6 AV25 - Fall, Wind Direction is - Heading -.
He wants to try again, but why bother? If I could kill one child I could kill another. I know what I'm capable of, I'm merciless and self centered, I've always been this way, living on land or getting married won't change me.
--------------
Day 7 AV25 - Fall, Wind Direction is S-SE Heading E.
I will have to live with this guilt, because it won't be going anywhere. I never had to deal with guilt before I started living in Auria. At least, not since I became a pirate. There wasn't any consequence for what I did then. Now however, there is no end to the repercussions for my actions, not just to me but everyone in my life. I need to go home, It's been a year since Rook and I realised we held eachothers heart, and I will not miss my opportunity to be held in his arms. Things are hard, and it hurts to think about what's happened, but if nothing else, there will be better days to come. So long as I have my dirt farming, land lubbing, Rook.

Day 1 AV26 - Winter
I've not been a passenger on a ship since I could barely walk. But I can't get myself to volunteer to work. Not yet... Zark was so scared of the ship I had to knock her out to get her onto it, she has a family, and she needs to be with them. God's forbid us stuck on a ship with a unmanaged Caesar, and I'm sure Thomas wants his mother to come along no less. There are a few who stayed though, Lee being one of them, I'll miss him. I have so little to hold on to with this group... Just Rook, really. Maybe Con. Rook wants to find a new home, as Auria, the Yuma and everything we had is lost to us now. Buried under ash and death. We've got nothing to hold onto but each other... I hope its enough.
------------
Day 5 AV26 - Winter
We're going to be on this ship for a long while. The captain says he's taking us to this old fishing village, he's heard stories about the lands and perhaps a place worth settling in them. The forbidden lands is a big place, I just hope we can settle soon, I am still newlywed, and would like to start my life with my husband at /some/ point.
------------
Day 12 AV26 - Winter
Rook and I have been aiding the captain and the crew. I can tell I've taught my beloved well when he climbs across the rigging as well as any of Captain James' crew. He and I are enjoying the distraction, its hard to think about the horror that Auria was when you're too tired to think...
------------
Day 20 AV26 - Winter
Captain said we'd reach land soon. I'm tempted to tell Rook I'd rather stay on James' ship then be a landlubber again. But at the same time, I would rather captain my own ship, as good a man the captain is, it prefer my own hat and title...

~~~~~
Ezri,
I'm writing this because I, while searching for Conradian, found your letter. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm afraid no one have seen him for a long long time now and no matter how much I look, I can't find him.
He's to be declared missing and Auria will most likely go through an election of a new mayor. I'm sorry, but no one knows where to start looking for him, there are no clues to be found. I just hope my old friend returns home in one piece.
I also found this when going through his dusty office. I won't ask.
Safe travels,
Zarkaylia
Got a letter from Zarkaylia about Con.
Missing. No one can find him. How could he just go missing... how can they just hold an election? You can't replace the man, he's... my Con...
--------------
Day 39 AV24 - Summer. Provensia, Mainlands
So I have a few bruises from last night. I'm not sure what from, Sam says I started a fight in the family pub, and we got thrown out. We were lucky that the family didn't personally take offense to it. The fact I'm still breathing nor have I seen Ace today says they must be feeling benevolent. Or it wasn't much of a fight. I don't remember...
At any rate I went out and continued my shopping, Some of the things Gerolf asked for aren't very easy to find. That and they'll stink my hold up to nether and back.
--------------
*another letter is pressed between the pages.*
~~~~~

Destination: Auria - "Stowaway Farms", Forbidden Lands
From: Wolfesbane Tavern & Brewery, Mainland
