It's unfortunate that your personal circumstances are developing in such a manner, but it simply does not excuse one to act out in such a petulant and entitled fashion. Staff does not exist to deal with one's personal issues; the rules exist for the sake of the server at large. Staff does not seem to be the party acting selfish here.
The only thing shown here is that the punishment delivered was more than deserved, as this displays utter incapacity to respect staff's authority. One shouldn't bother going out of one's way to try to tolerate such perceived injustices, because the fact is that people will not be eagerly awaiting one's return when this is one's attitude.
Good luck with IRL, and hopefully your attitude will improve in the meantime. As for this thread, it will likely even become more negative- partially due to this post- if it is not locked, so that is what I would suggest to staff.
