Lore:

The ‘Lovely Queen’s Lodge,’ formerly known as The Dockside Inn, was built by the brothers Brom and Rowan Dolton. The Dolton brothers were survivors from one of the civil wars in the mainland that had ravaged their hometown. Upon fleeing by boat towards the forbidden lands, they stumbled upon the cove, and found it a good place to camp. After keeping camp in the cove for a few weeks, they began to come into contact with boats that, like them, had stopped there for shelter. However, the brothers came to find that the people on the boats had destinations in mind. Often times these people were heading to the nearby safe town Auria, or sometimes to other towns in the Lands, such as Nymphia. And so, Brom and Rowan began the endeavor to create an Inn. It was a clever idea, and they thought they could make good money from it.

For a few months, the inn was a success. Brom took the task of keeping customers happy, and providing rooms for boats that entered the cove. Rowan maintained the garden, and kept the rooms and inn tidy and under good care. Boats often stopped by every few days, and a few passengers would often pay what little they had to have a room to sleep in after so many days at sea. Brom even sometimes offered a free stay if he felt sorry enough for survivors of the awful tales of Civil War the passengers brought. As tales of the inn passed to the mainland from the boat captains, shipments were often donated to the inn from the wealthy mainlanders at home, to keep the inn going.

However, things began to change. Brom began to get complaints that the rooms were no longer being tidied. He noted with this that the plants outside had begun to wither as well, and that the rest of the inn was beginning to look messy. Yet, he could never seem to find his brother to question him about this. He was always missing in action.

Days passed without sight of Rowan, and Brom began to worry, and was forced to clean the inn himself. He still left the basement unattended, not worrying much about it, as it was simply where the shipments were placed, and it was not the customers’ domain.

Weeks passed now as Rowan was still missing, Brom became more worried, and new complaints were being sent from the customers. Sounds of hissing-like noises at night, blood-curdling screams, and cackling were all reported. Brom thought of it as nothing more of fiction, and was more worried about his missing brother. Nonetheless, he stayed awake one night to see if it was true, and discovered his brother sneaking into the inn late at night, their conversation going along the lines of this;

“Where have you been?!” Brom asked.

“I’ve been in love, my brother.” Rowan replied, an eerie, mad look in his eye before slipping by his brother down to the basement.

Brom followed his brother down the stairs and into a tunnel he figured must had been dug by Rowan. Brom was killed that night, by the ‘love’ of his brother’s life, a queen Giant Spider, before he was devoured by the dozen of spiders that lived down in the basement as well.

(Please note here that Rowan never got close enough to the spider to be killed, but kept a watchful eye from outside the underground tunnel in the basement, keeping the spiders contained in the tunnel for the time being. When Brom followed, he thought Rowan went in the tunnel, when in reality; he was hiding behind a crate. He remained hidden, because his insanity had increased to the point where his brother meant less to him then the his ‘queen.’)

After Brom’s death, Rowan took his place as the Innkeeper. He was rarely seen at the counter though, so customers began to give themselves rooms in the Inn. However, as Rowan’s insanity continued, he felt his queen deserved the whole inn to herself and her family, and so he allowed them to come out from the tunnel, and into the inn. Mysterious deaths began to occur for the customers in the inn.

After a number of deaths, Rowan got his wish, for the giant spiders and the queen that he so loved to infest the inn to the highest degree. Word spread to the mainland, and ships no longer stopped here on their way to Auria, and all memory of the mysterious lodge was lost over time. Rowan barely lived long enough to change the name of his beloved building to ‘The Lovely Queen’s Lodge’ before being devoured by his soul mate days soon after people stopped coming.[/center]

This location is mostly meant for small group questing. Basically, the less people the more entertainment.
