Introducing New Characters to the Map

For applicants/new players:
Mesalia has undergone a recent map change. This means that the existing, accepted characters have simply moved from one place in the Forbidden Lands to another, more or less.

What does this mean for me?
Your character's backstory still has to end with your character arriving to the Forbidden Lands alone, because the RP is still set in the Forbidden Lands; it's just in another place. However, unlike how we have previously stated, new characters currently can not arrive at the setting by boat. This applies to both whitelist applications as well as character submissions.
Also, if you are accepted onto the server, you must follow these rules in addition to the server's standard rules.

What are my options, then?
Your options are as follows:

1. You may wait until arrival by boat is available in the setting. If you choose this option, your application will not be approved until arrival by boat is available in the setting. Please note that we do not know the exact time arrival by boat will be available, as this largely depends on the characters' actions in the setting. However, we can guarantee that it will happen eventually.
Currently, arrival by boat is unavailable.

2. Your character takes a boat to the Forbidden Lands, then wanders towards the setting. Eventually, they come across a trail of beacons [click here for an image] and follow it directly to the setting. If you choose this option, you must make it clear that you have done so in your character's backstory, and you must allow at least a year in your character's backstory for travel. If you are a currently whitelisted player submitting a new character, you may mention landmarks from the Middle Map.

Please make sure the option you have chosen for your character is made clear on your application. While we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, we ask you remain patient and understand that these measures are to ensure your character fits smoothly and realistically into the setting.
