I've always had a fond for roleplaying games, and I wanted to give it a shot in minecraft.

My name is Brittany, I'm 17 and I like to play basketball and hang out with my dog. And of course, play video games.

Your Character Biography:
A 29 year-old Lucin blacksmith named Howard. I was going to be drafted for the War of Kane at the age of 18, but my brother took my place and died a year later while the Xitians were conducting a raid on there camp. My father was an alcoholic and my mother was kidnapped when I was 11 years old. I've accustomed to living on the streets.

I have a knack for making weapons and armor. If received proper equipment, I can make anything. I'm also a decent cook.


Do your character bring anything to the setting (part from clothes)?
My character apart from clothes brings a pendant necklace that his mother had given him when he was little for good luck.

Welcome to Mesalia, Brittany. I’m Michelle, and I’ll be guiding you through the application process.

1. From the whitelist application thread:

Only Moderators and Administrators may be of Lucin or Xitian blood in any form.

Please revise your character to be Mesalian.

2. Overall, your character’s backstory requires more detail. It should include information on the events of your character’s life from his birth to his arrival at the Forbidden Lands (see point 3c) while incorporating lore events relevant to their life (see points 3a and 3b). It should also support your character’s personality (see point 4) and skills (see point 5).

3. Lore-related issues: your character’s backstory must incorporate relevant events from the lore of Mesalia. The following points are listed to ensure your character fits smoothly within the RP setting. It is recommended that you re-read the lore more thoroughly before revising your application.

• a) If your character is twenty-nine, he would have been born six years after the War of Veld, and would have also been seven when the Civil War started. He also would have been present when the Dusk Realm’s portal re-opened. Currently, your character’s backstory does not mention or incorporate either of these events. What did your character do during the Civil War? What was it like for him? How has it affected who he is now? Please consider questions such as these, and revise/elaborate.
  b) “...I was going to be drafted for the War of Kane at the age of 18...”
  From the lore of Mesalia: “...A war that lasted for over 100 years raged in our Realm, and many Lucins and Xitians died. They called it the War of Kane ... Thousands of years passed since the War of Kane.”
  The War of Kane took place thousands of years before the current time period of the setting. Please revise with this information in mind.
  c) Your character’s backstory must end with them arriving alone at the Forbidden Lands; this is because the roleplay of the server is set there. Please revise your character’s backstory to include a trip to the Forbidden Lands.

4. In relation to point 2, your character’s personality requires more detail. Your character’s personality should be the main focus of their backstory; it should do this by telling us how Howard has become who he is. How has his upbringing affected him? How have the events in his life shaped who he is today? What has made him change in the past? Please revise/elaborate with questions such as these in mind. Please also include a prose description of your character’s personality. Consider things like the character’s faults, ambitions and values. What’s he like in different situations? Keep in mind that this description should be supported by your character’s backstory (see the previous point).

5. Your character’s skills also require more detail. While you do make Howard’s skills clear, you don’t explain how he learnt them, or where/who he learnt them from. Please revise and elaborate on this in your character’s backstory. You also need to specify just how skilled your character is; you already did this, but it’s not very clear. Here’s a guide that explains how people usually describe their character’s skill levels here; keep in mind that your character shouldn’t be too skilled for her age. Please consult the guide, then revise.

6. This is a good example of what we generally accept here.
