Healing House and Permissions.
#1
So due to lots of things cropping up and occurring over and over, I thought I'd put a few things up here.

I'm not trying to force things on people, but at the same time I'd hope that perhaps my wishes would be at least considered and respected.

I'd like to point something out first of all. If I'm not online, that's usually because I have no reason to be, or I simply wish to do something else. I don't have a very powerful Laptop, and as such MC causes my cooling system to go nuts, it also slows my PC down and as such I struggle to comfortably watch YouTube or do other things in the background.

But, just because I'm not online doesn't mean I can't be. A simple nudge in Skype or Steam can get me online if I'm not eating/in the middle of a multiplayer game.

Basic Perms

First of all, the basic permissions in the Healing House. I'd appreciate being asked before you do anything that may cause some sort of detriment to the building or the belongings held within. If I'm not online, there are plenty of people who have me on Skype/Steam who can ask me to get online as I said above.

This covers theft, property damage and the likes. I don't /mind/ such things occurring. But I'd like to know /what/ is being taken/damaged, so I can react to it accordingly, or have the chance to find or prevent it occurring, if the situation suits.

Secondary Concerns

Titling this stuff is really hard.

So aside from this, there are two main 'issues' I have that have been reoccurring for quite a while now, and I'd really like them to..stop.

Firstly there would be the times when I'm not online and something big happens, and people end up in the Healing House. But no one tells me that people are even /in/ the Healing House, never mind actually doing things. It makes things incredibly awkward for me, because then I need to make up some random excuse for Arua apparently not being in the Healing House, despite the fact that she actually was.

I'm not saying that this has been the case every time, but the amount of times I've actually been told equal about the same amount of times I haven't, and I've been available.

The Second, and somewhat more actively occurring issue I have is people just leaving. This is more often the case with those who have multiple characters, since whenever I am around, they are typically playing the other character. Then whenever they want to leave, they do so when I'm not online.

I don't like to pester people for RP as a specific character, I think its rude and unnecessary. But if you want your character to leave, I'd appreciate at least a little RP with you before you go, and again, a simple nudge on Skype or elsewhere would get me on to do it.

If you don't have the time to do so, I understand, and although It will take a little away from my experience, I won't have a problem with it. But a message in Skype or a PM on here to tell me that they've left would still be useful.

That's it really, I just wanted to put this out here. I'm not trying to sound like I'm bitching at people or complaining. But a lot of these sorts of things really makes me less in the mood to RP and it can end up ruining something that I really do enjoy to do.

Cerberus while I understand your frustration on some matters and exactly what you're requesting there is some clarifications I need to make.
  • The issue with IG items probably stems from the history of the previous clinic, this is an oversight by some players who've made a mistake given the healing house is often seen as a public building and not a private one. Though yes, perms here should be observed, I agree. I simply wanted to clarify the origins of the issue.

  • Rule 1 of Mesalia is to respect one another, that that means to respect the right to privacy and to respect what may make another player uncomfortable.

For example, bothering players outside of the game to get in game for an RP makes me extremely uncomfortable. I think it's an imposition, rude, and unnecessary, and since I don't want it done to me so I simply wont do it if I can at all help it. With this in mind I cannot condone any request made expecting people to do this or requesting to impose on other players to contact you.

I am sorry for the inconvenience, but this is a form of pressure to some people that we shouldn't be placing on them. However politely done. I know you aren't demanding it in any way and I don't mean to suggest that you are. I am just asking that you please be understanding of other players if they refuse to contact you. It may make them uncomfortable or they simply can't; We do have players that don't even use Skype and some that are not in communication with those who could impose on you for an RP.

  • In the vein of the same issue, you cannot request people to keep their characters confined to the healing house until you are available because you are not comfortable reaching out to them while they are RPing other characters. I also want to point out that for some characters (such as Bandit) leaving when no one is around is exactly the intention.

  • It shouldn't be any issue to come up with a reason why Arua would not be home, she has two young children, that should be all the excuse you'll ever need. Here's some examples if your stumped.
    • "I was out with the kids _____"
    • Having a snowball fight
    • Building a snowfort
    • Making snow angels
    • Picking flowers
    • Chasing butterflies
    • Making a trombone powered golf-cart
    • Looking for mushrooms
[It's a joke, I know that excuses can be tedious. Please don't eat me.]

I understand that these things are niggles that make RPing a healer irritating and difficult. It is unfortunately something that does come with the roll, you can ask anyone who's played a healer or doctor before. It's demanding on time to try and be available whenever anyone could need you and frustrating as hell when they leave. But I just simply wanted to give you some insight into how the other players feel. Please understand that I'm certain most will make an effort to get a hold of you as you've asked. But just as they do that, please understand there are those that feel the same way about Skype as you do about asking for a particular character for RP. We want everyone happy and not stressing themselves out over being a bother to someone.

Thank you, for letting people know they can reach out to you, and for understanding that there are some that can't.
